Looking back….

It’s been a couple of long, hard and dedicating three months of non-stop blogging, weekly lectures and the endless consumption of coffee, but I can finally say I’ve done it! The past few weeks has been an eye-opening experience to me, and I could be no less grateful for all the guest speakers who filtered us with their own experiences and knowledge of IT.

Coming into this subject (Digital Built Environment), i could say that i had initially under-estimated technology. By this i mean that i was completely oblivious to how technology could possibly impact the way in which we construct, design and manage stages of a building. I think one of the biggest point that ALL nine guest speakers have made, is that IT and innovative technology is the biggest game-changer for our future. (I definitely agree, and here comes the Facebook analogy… only joking). I now believe that there’s so much potential for technology to further grow and expand, and who know’s, maybe some day we could be talking about genetically manufactured robots constructing our city’s futuristic buildings. (Is it me, or would i really like to see this happen)

Finally, I’m glad that studying Construction Project Management has given me the opportunity to learn more about technology and IT softwares within the built environment. I would like to picture myself in the future, alongside construction professionals and working on developing new innovative technology like Hansen and Yuncken’s HyWay Systems.
Now to bid farewell to my fellow readers, I hope you enjoyed this blog- Blogging will definitely become a hobby of mine starting from tomorrow!
